Who doesn’t love an excuse to spend a lazy weekend with decadent food, cocktails and coffee you didn’t have to make? Whether you’re treating yourself to a sunny patio brunch with a view, or a rainy day comfort brunch with friends, The Shipyards District has some of the best brunch options in Metro Vancouver to give you all the excuse you need to indulge.

This all-organic, plant-based cafe is not to be missed, even if you’re worried about missing the meat! Green Moustache makes everything from scratch, including their vegan cheeses and desserts which are truly divine. Try a cold-pressed juice or smoothie bowl for a healthy detox kind of start to your day, or dive into a plate of buckwheat pancakes with caramel cashew cream if you really wanna go “buck”-wild!

Address: 247 Lonsdale Ave.

2. Kitchen Craft Eatery

With a view overlooking all of The Shipyard District, you can enjoy your Saturday brunch with sunshine on the water, and cream cheese frosting on freshly baked cinnamon buns. KCE isn’t open on Sundays, but they more than make up for it with Saturday brunch because…did we mention the cinnamon buns?

3. The Lobby Restaurant

Located inside the lobby of the Pinnacle Hotel At The Pier, this upscale favourite is especially known for their fresh and sustainable, BC seafood dishes. How about a lobster or crab cake benny for weekend brunch, followed by the Belgian waffle with tiramisu cream and fresh berries for dessert? Done and done.

4. Meat at O’Neills

If there’s one thing you can count on at this family-owned and operated shop, it’s an outrageously good breakfast sandwich menu with some seriously solid bacon options. Served all day long (for you brunch-all-day-every-day folks), these breakfast sandos are always made to order and served on freshly-baked buns. Grab a few with some cans of local, North Van brews to go, and let’s take this brunch party to the park!

5. Seaside Provisions

Feeling social? Rally some friends and head over to the Seaside Hotel for a brunch menu that favours the share-plate style. They also have an amazing cocktail program with fine-crafted libations specifically designed to complement weekend brunch.

If that’s not enough to get your mouth watering, Seaside Provisions has sourdough french toast with white chocolate ganache, and an entire “Brunch Tower” of goodies just to make sure you don’t miss anything.

6. Winston

Let’s give a warm, North Shore welcome to our newest brunch rockstar, Winston! This farm-to-table charmer opened its doors in 2020, and has been knocking brunch out of the park ever since with their beautifully bright, airy space and natural wine list. Priding themselves on specialty, locally-roasted coffee and house-made, organic brioche Milk buns, brunch (and mimosas, naturally) are served Wednesday through Monday here.

No work week is entirely complete without a little something special to look forward to at the end, so next time someone asks what’s on your plate for the weekend, just put your money where your mouth is and tell them you’re getting out…to brunch!
