Scott Smith has been one of the key guitar players in Vancouver’s blues and roots rock scenes for a couple decades now, playing with local rockers like Barney Bentall and Rich Hope as well as leading his own bands Terminal Station and Just A Season. With the Evil Ways, Smith has put together a group with the same instrumental lineup as the original Santana band: organ (Darryl Havers), bass (Jeremy Holmes), drums (Geoff Hicks), congas (Liam MacDonald) and timbales (Robin Layne). Expect to hear the famous Santana hits like “Back Magic Woman” and “One Como Va” as well as the instrumental favourites “Jingo”, “Se A Cabo” and of course “Soul Sacrifice”.
This free show is presented by BlueShore at CapU in partnership with Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
