Facilitated by: Dr. Melissa Carr, B.Sc., Dr.TCM, Registered Dr. of Traditional Chinese Medicine
We all know that eating nutritious food is an important part of good health. But what should you eat? Nutrition can feel like a confusing and complicated topic, with many opposing pieces of advice and guidance. There is no one perfect diet because each of us is different. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) offers a holistic medical system that allows us to sort out our strengths and challenges. It also helps us understand different types of foods and ways of preparing foods to bring our own systems into better balance. I’ll offer some simple tips based on TCM principles to help you make nutrition choices that work for you.
Take Home Points · Everyone has different nutritional needs · TCM has a system to help individuals sort out personalized needs · Food recommendations can change based on season, current health condition, and more · Foods can be understood by their flavour, temperature, colour, season of growth, type of plant, and more
