In his current body of work, Jason Mccrea (Siloh) explores the idea of hostility and harmony in the urban landscape. Oftentimes leaning towards one more than the other and using his strong use of color to balance the elements together. This comes from a deep appreciation for the present moments he encounters in his day to day life. Painting these places for how they felt in memory rather than what they are in reality. It is a visual representation of what he calls“the alpha state” or better known as a meditative state. Through this lens these everyday places can be seen in a more meaningful way.
