The Polygon and Emily Carr University of Art + Design present Design + Make, a collaborative project with the students of the Industrial Design program. In this course led by Associate Professor Christian Blyt, students were tasked to design and make products that fit comfortably in the homes of patrons and visitors of The Polygon.
Materials were to be primarily wood, and a budget was set to cater to a retail price of $75 or less. Major themes of this project included concept development, strategizing and implementing small batch production, and developing a cohesive brand identity including the packaging. Using these skills, the design teams created marketing plans to guide them toward the sale of their final products.
All these limited series products will be available for purchase in the pop-up store from Thursday, April 20-27.
Opening reception Thursday, April 20th, 6 – 8pm
