Griffins Boxing Gym is the largest boxing gym in Canada, home to Boxfit® and Boxtech®, the revolutionary and award-winning systems for boxing. Building confidence in a safe, welcoming environment, Griffins Boxing offers a wide range of classes and personal training for all experience levels, demographics, and abilities.
Griffins Boxing started its unique training trajectory in 1999 when Owner/Coach Dave Brett began offering Boxing & Fitness classes at William Griffin’s Recreation Centre in North Vancouver. Griffins Boxing was established in April 2005, after a 6-year development run at the North Shore Rec Centers. We created Griffins Boxing to bring the community together, to change lives by building confidence, and to show the North Shore that boxing is not just a brutal sport; it is a tool used to build confidence and discipline, it is an art and an Olympic sport. Through word of mouth and growing popularity, Griffins Boxing expanded to a 6000 sq ft location, and then 9 years later, moved into their current 12,000sq ft. location at 325 East Esplanade in North Vancouver, making Griffins Boxing & Fitness the largest boxing gym in Canada.
Griffins is NCCP-recognized and has BCRPA-certified Coaches. Men, women, and children from age 5 to age 75 use Boxfit® and Boxtech®, which teach the Glove System®. Rooted in a strong community focus, Griffins Boxing is also home to Boxfit® Pink [supporting breast cancer warriors], and the Wings program, supporting youth in the community who encounter barriers en route to boxing instruction.
We are a safe and welcoming boxing and fitness facility: a first-of-its-kind, an innovator, and a community builder. Griffins Boxing has changed tens of thousands of people’s lives in the community, working with elite athletes, kids and children, new moms and babies, breast cancer survivors, and amazing people with Parkinson’s. We have a unique, award-winning, and trademark system called Boxtech®, where we use different coloured hand wraps to teach the skill of boxing, much like karate does with belts. This allows us to create a safe space to learn the sweet science of boxing. Starting at age 5, all the way up to our golden athletes at 75. Friendly, positive, and motivated staff are committed to making the introduction to boxing a welcome and rewarding one.
