Lower Lonsdale’s revitalization into a unique waterfront community has been an ongoing and exciting process with huge changes keeping visitors and locals returning regularly to the area to see what’s new. In July, The Shipyard Commons, which is in the heart of The Shipyards, was unveiled as yet another premier public gathering area.

The historic Machine Shop structure has been re-created to act as a cover over the interactive year-round programming that will be featured underneath. What exactly are the public amenities? An 8,000-square foot Splash Park (open daily 10am to 8pm in the summer months), 12,000 square foot Skate Plaza in the winter, 140 underground parking stalls, and a 20,000-square foot dynamic event space including The Wallace on the third floor on the Machine Shop featuring unobstructed Vancouver city views.
